Born in Japan, Kodai Hamaya began his professional baseball career after being drafted in the 3rd round by the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles in 2013. A left-handed pitcher standing 185cm tall, he spent five seasons in NPB before embarking on an international career that has taken him across six countries.

Today, he's based in Melbourne, Australia — still actively playing while coaching the next generation of players and running More Dream Japan, his player agent service that helps Japanese athletes find professional opportunities around the world.

Selected 3rd round by Rakuten in the 2013 draft. Made his NPB debut on September 28, 2014. Wore #46 throughout his Rakuten career.
